Caesars Palace is located on the west flank of the Las Vegas Strip. Established in 1966, the AAA Four Diamond luxury casino hotel is positioned between The Mirage and Bellagio. Aside from being one of the largest and most popular landmarks of Las Vegas, Caesars Place is also among the world’s most prestigious casino hotels. Caesars Palace is the brainchild of Jay Sarno, an American hotelier, casino owner and developer. Sarno wanted to create a luxurious facility that allowed guests to experience what life was like during the Roman Empire. Caesars Place has a lot of iconography, statues and columns that are reminiscent of Hollywood Roman period productions. One good example of this is the 20′ statue of Julius Caesar that is placed near the entrance of the casino hotel.
Where the Name Came From
Sano named the casino hotel Caesars Palace in the hopes that it would induce thoughts of splendour and royalty. He hoped that more women would come to the casino and men would follow them. He believed that gambling would follow from that. Sano also wanted guests to feel like the namesake of the hotel, Emperor Caesar. This is the reason why the hotel doesn’t have an apostrophe from its name. Sano wished for his guests to feel like a real king.
Theme of the hotel
The hotel boasts an ancient Roman theme.
It took four years to build the hotel, and it finally opened on August 5, 1966. The hotel had a tower and water fountains. Evel Knievel, a stuntman, tried to fly a motorcycle across the fountain in 1967. Unfortunately, he was unsuccessful and ended up in a coma for almost a month. Nonetheless, the casino hotel quickly became popular.
Stuart and Clifford S. Perlman bought the hotel from Sano in 1969. Different companies have purchased Caesars Palace since then, but Caesars Entertainment Corporation now owns the casino hotel. The current Caesars Palace looks utterly different from the one launched by Sano in 1966.

Today, Caesars Palace is located between The Mirage and Bellagio, two other famous casinos. It is home to many casino rooms with luxurious designs and decorations, an arena and a cinema. Arena-style music shows are conducted every night. Some of the most popular artists who have performed at Caesars Palace include Elton John, Gloria Estefan, Celine Dion, Cher and Steve Nicks. Some TV shows have filmed some episodes at the casino hotel such as The Sopranos and Will & Grace.

The casino hotel is also home to a wide range of restaurants, with some serving authentic Chinese cuisine to satisfy the taste buds of wealthy East Asian gamblers. Caesars Palace has modern facilities including table games like baccarat, blackjack, mini-baccarat, roulette, Pai Gow poker, Spanish 21 and Pai Gow. It also has a large selection of video poker and slot machines as well as a 4,500 sqft 24-hour poker room.
